Why an Orchestra?

There are several options you can select from when choosing music for any type of event, however, none have quite the sense of occasion and grandeur as an orchestra. You can have all the music you desire in its true and glorious form, or on an even larger scale. An orchestra provides an enormous variety of sounds, and when they are found in combination, the atmosphere can be phenomenal. However, you need to get your choice right if you are to achieve the effect you desire.

What to Expect When You Hire Us for Your Event

When you hire Orchestranet Quartet for your special occasion, you can expect the ultimate in professionalism both in performance and in appearance. We are not only highly experienced but also smartly presented. Usually, we wear formal black outfits, however, at your request, we are able to wear bright colours to suit your preference. Strings add smoothness and sophistication to your occasion. A string quartet has a four-part harmony which produces an unforgettable and unique sound, whether we are playing a classical piece or an interpretation of one of today’s modern favourites.

Our Flexible Approach

Although many orchestras give off the impression of being very traditional in their approach, here at Orchestranet Quartet, we are much more flexible. Whatever style of music you want to hear at your event we are happy to accommodate. We have played everything from show tunes and pop classics to traditional pieces by the greats like Mozart. You can either choose the music you want us to play or allow us to select the most appropriate musical choices to suit your function.

We’re happy to play outdoors or indoors to suit the needs of your occasion. As long as we have chairs to sit on and adequate protection from inclement weather, we’re happy!

Kendra Pounder

Kendra Pounder

Cello

Kendra was born and raised in London. Her parents were members of their church music group, with her father being a guitarist and her mother being the vocalist. From an early age, Kendra was encouraged to experiment with instruments, however, it wasn’t until she began music lessons at secondary school that she discovered the cello. Immediately, she felt an affinity with this more unusual instrument and begged for her own cello for her birthday. Her parents obliged, and she hasn’t looked back since. After taking lessons at school and with a private tutor, she went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music, graduating in 2010. After graduating, she worked part-time as a private cello tutor herself while caring for her twin daughters. She met David in 2011 when they were playing together for a local musical theatre company’s performance. The pair expressed their interest in established their own string quartet for events and weddings and so Orchestranet Quartet was born!
